-Remarkable Parrot-
three sons left home, went out on their own and prospered. They discussed the gifts they were able to give their elderly mother.
The first said: "I built a big house for our mother."
The second said: "I sent her a Mercedes with a driver."
The third said: "You remember how our mother enjoys reading the Bible. Now she can't see very well. So I sent her a remarkable parrot that recites the entire Bible. It took elders in the church 12 years to teach him. Mama just has to name the chapter and verse and the parrot recites it."
Soon thereafter, their mother sent out her letters of thanks.
"Milton," she said, "the house you built is so huge. I live only in one room, but I have to clean the whole house.
"Gerald," she said, "I am too old to travel. I stay most of the time at home so I rarely use the Mercedes. And that driver is so rude! He's a pain!"
"But Donald," she said, "the little chicken you sent was delicious!"

heys peeps!
yup it's very true!

one thing about commitment is to ...
hold on to the decisions we made in truth,
sustaining them even after the emotional highs, or "feels" are gone.
we are people who live by the Word, by the Truth, not by fleeting emotions, amen?

hahahs alrighty..

choir prac!

21st June 08
10am
America Room
FULL CHOIR

ppl pls bring your notebooks!

ooh i know the jc people are having major exams, will affect scholarship applications and stuff.
so i give ya all an option to have a break for this session k! its approved by our laoda so its fine. =)

BUT. you can only do so and be accountable to take this break if you are...
1) mugging early in the morning when its supposed to be choir prac time OR
2) was mugging late late late( realli late) into the night and needed rest.

other than that, you will be accountable for your own actions!!
MUAHAHAHA!!. (accompanied by thunder and lightning sounds)

okok. other stuff.
heys auditions hor, is on both in and out of season, just like evangelism.
let's recognize that we hav to be on the lookout for people who are blessed with good voices etc. can u imagine, if u dint ask that person, and that person dint get to use his/her talent, and it ends up being buried and lost?! its definitely a lost for the kingdom.
we wont be operating at maximum capacity then! and our output will be less! ( the econs ppl will understand this)
=))

ooh. ok. next.
realized that quite some people are still late.
hmm perhaps you all can get buddies to phone ya up in the morning? like morning calls or sth. it'll be great. =)
and some ppl hasnt been turning up. can people in the same sections help me to ask dem also? let's really follow the jesus model and be like a family here. =))

yup that's all!
let's sustain and hold on to our promises!

let Jonah's prayer be our response after camp..

Jonah 2:8-9
8 "Those who cling to worthless idols
forfeit the grace that could be theirs.
9 But I, with a song of thanksgiving,
will sacrifice to you.
What I have vowed I will make good.
Salvation comes from the LORD."

we all need God's grace to live. relinquish and give up things which steal God's kingship in our hearts. only then we can draw upon God's grace to live our lives.

as we surrender our lives and die to ourselves, be joyful. rejoice, as we no longer are slaves of sin, renounced of guilt and shame. let's be faithful to our responses during camp. decide to live a life of repentance. a new life and life transformation, comes only from God alone.

dear choristers, how's our hearts towards God today?
are our hearts soft? God is a God of many chances. but let us not relish in this truth, and take God's grace for granted.

let's obey God, and live a transformed life!

laughs:
Ol' Fred had been a faithful Christian and was in the hospital, near death. The family called their preacher to stand with them.

As the preacher stood next to the bed, Ol' Fred's condition appeared to deteriorate and he motioned frantically for something to write on.

The pastor lovingly handed him a pen and a piece of paper, and Ol' Fred used his last bit of energy to scribble a note, then he died.

The preacher thought it best not to look at the note at that time, so he placed it in his jacket pocket.

At the funeral, as he was finishing the message, he realized that he was wearing the same jacket that he was wearing when Ol' Fred died. He said, "You know, Ol' Fred handed me a note just before he died. I haven't looked at it, but knowing Fred, I'm sure there's a word of inspiration there for us all."

He opened the note, and read, "Hey, you're standing on my oxygen tube!"
